We are celebrating the festivals to share the happiness and exchange the positive energy. Navratri festival is celebrating in the Maharashtra, Gujrat and West Bengal. In 2020 due to pandemic situation it could not celebrate like before.  The Government has been declared some guidelines to celebrate this festival. There is No Garba or Dandiya or any cultural events will be allowable. Instead of this, peoples can conduct the social activities, awareness camps and online events organization in the society.

Societies can celebrate this Navratri Utsav by following steps.

Height more than 4 feet

Eco friendly

Height less than 4 feet

• Height of the idol up to 2 feet at home for private celebration and 4 feet for the public pandal / Societies would allowable. Recommend shadu soil or Eco friendly idols instead of Plaster of Paris idols which can be dissolve easily in to the water.

• Thermal Scanning of each member in during this celebration should be measures in the society

• Social distancing should be maintained during the celebration.

• Government has been restricted for social gathering but what new things can be done to celebrate this Navratri? After all we want to celebrate the festivals so let’s do this with little another way –

• Instead of Garba or dance activity societies can keep drawing competitions, essay writing competition to involve the children’s in this festival.

• Free Medical Check of the members, Health awareness sessions on the general topics to increase the awareness of the youngsters and adults, How to boost your immunity to stay fit or How to keep mental stability in all situation, etc.

• Navratri is the celebration of the Nine Powers of the Maata – So can keep the sessions on the subject of women empowerment – How to increase power of the women, How you can make a strong to your child whether it is Baby or Boy, How to recognize Girl Child, societies can conduct the small sessions on this topic to increase awareness of social issues and our child can be made aware for this.

• Drama’s can be conduct on the solutions of the social issues or reduce the environmental issues.

• Online interactive sessions of those ladies who work hard to achieve their goal, or working as NGO or ladies who are working in the different fields. These topics will be inspired to the other ladies and can helps to increase their inner power.

• Navratri colors are celebrating everywhere and but sometimes they doesn’t know the spiritual meaning of this color – Notice board of the societies can be use to share the everyday’s information of the colors.

• Navratri is the celebration of Nine Days continuous lamp (Akhand Diya) and Nine days Vrat / Upvas. Societies can keep some vrat in the society to take a experience by implementing the particular activity continuous for 9 days. E.g.

  1. No use of plastic bags – Use of cloth bags or paper bags
  2. No wastage of water – use each drop of water
  3. No wastage of food – Preparation of essential food

• Bhajan or kirtan on the real meaning of Idol, her powers and why we are killing Ravana every year.

• Tree plantation in the society by children’s and adults. Make them aware to take care of their planted tree.
