Defect

  1. Over cooking food got spoiled
  2. Added more salt while cooking, could not be eaten by family members
  3. Food made very spicy, could not be eaten by family members.
  4. Milk kept outside for 1 days without heating, which got spoiled.
  5. Added sugar instead of salt due to wrong identification, food got spoiled.

Overproduction

  1. Went to friends place for dinner without informing at home, due to which food was cooked but could not be eaten.
  2. Prepared excess food for six members, while staying at house are only 4 members.
  3. Prepared excess food thinking guest will come as it is weekend, but none of them turned up.
  4. Prepared excess food during son birthday, but could not finish by family members and it turned out to be a waste.

  Waiting

  1. Food not ready because salt and masala was not available though it is lunch time.
  2. Waiting for food getting heated for dinner as it was prepared in morning
  3. Waiting for papad getting roasted though food is ready to serve.
  4. Waiting for all family members to join on table as a family tradition.
  5. Waiting for mother to come from office and cook the food, though dinner time as passed.  

Non-Utilization of people

  1. Suggestion of children are not taken, they being the fresh mind towards new update on current affairs and technology.
  2. Talent of family members not discussed / known.
  3. Encouraging talent of children
  4. Forcing parents’ expectation on children for their future career
  5. Giving chance to children to show improvement on different sectors of life.

Transportation

  1. Taking food from kitchen to hall both during lunch and dinner time.
  2. Bring groceries from shop

Inventory

  1. Cupboard loaded with dress, some dress is not used for more then six months, but even though dress is purchased.
  2. Fridge loaded with items and difficult to search required items.
  3. Items is purchased but are not used or disposed year after year.
  4. Two English News Papers purchased.

Motion

  1. While cooking utensils are placed haphazardly. To get utensils which are kept on below drawers we need to bend often to get the required utensils while cooking. Eg. Pakad, spoon etc.
  2. Washing clothes are not placed at one location. Always go finding on each room and asking each member of family whether any cloths are there for wash.  
  3. While sweeping floor lot of bending and twisting takes place.

Excess processing

  1. Food prepared in morning is again preheated in evening.
  2. With food papad and pickles are also given while some of family members consume while others do not consume.
  3. Consuming three buckets of water for bath and spending one hour in bathroom.
